With Love, from Harare, Zimbabwe

March 2018

Dear Tshego

I met the most loving , soft spoken people here . We have taken a mini country tour so I am buzzing with energy, I truly feel like I am doing the work of my dreams. Before our first customer we woke up at 6 am to see the famous Victoria Falls , which are called Muswatunywa in the local Shona language. Its basically rainfall, sunrise, rainbows and like a rich forest all in one .. With a mini art market right outside friend. The energy is very electric really, all the little girls in me came out to play .. Then we had to go to site .. We have to go back chomi yami, phila ngiphile.

Visuals from Victoria Falls, Bulawayo & Harare, 2019 March

We drove from Victoria Falls , through Hwange towards Bulawayo , and ended up in Harare, sleeping in different hotels along the way. A few interesting things I noticed,

  1. Alcohol is very expensive there
  2. The road is not amazing but its a busy route with a range of goods moving up and down.
  3. There is a softer nature to the people, lots of organic food , family structure & work life balance
  4. There is a beautiful new set of properties booming for the expat community in Harare, there is also a small version of 44 Stanley Mid Town.
  5. The Ndebele here speak isiZulu live, and they swear its Ndebele …
  6. I learnt that its due to the story of Mzilikazi friend. Look it up.

We have to come back here for leisure for sure.

Will see you soon

With Love,

Noma
