At the start of the Covid-19 rules relaxing, I had the opportunity to experience a Buhlebendalo Mda night again. It was set in an old house in the city . I shuffled my blue bubbles and joined the joy of the night. You may remember Buhlebendalo as the soul sister from the musical group “The Soil”.
The night smelled like a combination of imphepho, expensive perfume and rich sisterhood …
Noma
I went alone , I always go alone to feed my soul . We gathered in a breathe of restoration, poetry, song, dance and liquor . My spirit is always so fed when I attend Bendalo Nights. First time I saw her perfom as a solo artist was at the Hard Rock Cafe in Sandton . It was before she dropped “Chosi ” her first solo album and I just knew it was going to be fire. She performed Buya Azania and I waited all those months to hear the song again ! When “Chosi” dropped, I was so happy I am sure I cried. It was a version of Buhle that we had not experienced before.

Buhle’s sets are so personal & healing. She includes her entire community and has this natural, unfiltered light around her aura. I love the company of women who’ve embraced their gifts and walk in their personal glory. I knew I would make friends on arrival & I did.

Please add this evening to your plans , you will come back so enriched.
