A Poem by A Nguni Scribe …
Being Black is wrestling with the spirits that guide you everyday
Whilst maintaining an outlook that seeks to define how deeply you can engage
With the beings that guide you
The beings inside you
So when you pray to the Dear light that guides you home
The voice inside shivers and shakes
In fear of your own eternal truth
That you are very much part of the Jungle
If not the Jungle itself
